Christmas Tree Pass Holiday Trash Cleanup in Avi Kwa Ame National Monument

We’re partnering with Southern Nevada Offroad Trailing for a Christmas Tree Pass Holiday Trash Cleanup in Avi Kwa Ame National Monument!

16ish miles on dirt. Let's have a beautiful trail ride and help  remove all of the ornaments and other things that have been left outside. Newbies, kiddos and doggies welcome. Christmas Tree Pass winds right by Avi Kwa Ame (also known as Spirit Mountain), which is considered to be among the most sacred places on Earth by at least 12 local tribes, including the Mojave, Chemehuevi, some Southern Paiute communities and the Yuman-speaking river tribes along the Colorado and into Mexico. Join special guest historian and cultural liaison Alan O'Neill to learn about this special place and why this area is so important.

Gloves, bags and pickers will be provided.

AWD. Stock height is fine.

Itinerary:

9:00am - Searchlight Community center at 9:00am (200 Michael Wendell Way, Searchlight, NV 89046)

9:30 am - Driver meeting & Roll out

10:00am - Disperse along Christmas Tree Pass and Clean up

12:00pm- Lunch/ Snack Break and Guest Speaker will be talking about history and importance of the area.

1:00pm- Head back home or optional Trail Ride after...

Ham or GMRS, we can decide at the meet up. There will be a few spare handheld radios to share.

Remember to bring layers, water, jackets and snacks. It's cold and you'll be hungry!
