This month’s special feature:
SPOTTING & PROTECTING THE BIRDS OF AVI KWA AME with bird biologist & educator Alex Harper
This month, we'll be joined by Alex Harper, a Las Vegas based bird biologist and educator working primarily with the Red Rock Audubon Society, an organization dedicated to the protection of birds and their habitats across the Mojave Desert. His love for birds, wildlife, and the outdoors began at an early age, and nearly all of his work has revolved around birds through collecting data for scientific studies, leading organized birding trips, and through educational programs for kids, teens, and adults of all skill levels.
He’ll be talking about the birds of Avi Kwa Ame, when and how to spot them, why Avi Kwa Ame’s designation was critical to several species in decline, and much, much more.
After the discussion, our very own movie cowboy Ron Safran will give a guided tour of the ranch house.
