Join us for a guided hike on the
HIKO SPRING CANYON
Join us for a guided hike in Hiko Spring Canyon! The Hiko Spring Canyon Trail goes through a scenic spring-fed desert canyon, tucked into the foothills of the Newberry Mountains, not far from Avi Kwa Ame (Spirit Mountain), the place of creation for the Mojave Indian Tribe and the other 9 Yuman speaking tribes. As such, it has profound spiritual significance and you will have the opportunity to see numerous petroglyphs, both at the trailhead and further down the canyon. Those interested in geology will find the hike fascinating with all the colorful rock formations.

We’ll be meeting at the parking lot of Terrible’s/Denny’s in Searchlight at 8:30AM (100 US-95) and then caravan-ing over to the trailhead parking area (roughly 30 miles). Bring plenty of water and snacks, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and a hat, and plan for about 3.5 hours once we leave town. Dogs are welcome but must remain on-leash.
There are no trail markers, and no restrooms. It is an out and back trail, 1.8 miles each way, easy to moderate, with an elevation change of 430'. There is a large gravel parking area which is suitable for all vehicles.
Please RSVP as space is limited and we want to be able to send last minute details or changes to those who are planning to attend.
